1. My heart is truly broken, I’m still in shock & disbelief over the loss of my dear friend Monita Braxton who was my classmate, & my sister in Christ. Her positive inspirational words of wisdom helped me get through a very difficult time in my life when I was deployed in Afghanistan. Monita surprised me & came to celebrate my birthday with me last September & it meant the world to me because we hadn’t seen each other since high school, but we communicated over Facebook & text messages, & I introduced her to everyone at my party because I was so proud & happy that she came to see me & happy to see her. I wish we had more time with her here on earth, but I know she’s in a better place & in no more pain. I’ll never forget her,.. my heart is deeply heavy. My thoughts & prayers are going out to her entire family & her beautiful daughter Serita for Gods healing & strength during this time of sorrow. Her positive energy & beautiful spirit will live on in my heart forever.
    Rest in Peace
    God Bless

  2. WOW this is such a shocker. Monita was our delivery lady for FedEx at Suntrust in Pikesville. To hear of her passing saddens me. My condolences to her family, friends and coworkers!

  3. Kevin Dunlap says:

“He spake well who said that graves are the footprints of angels” – Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

To know Monita was to know an angel among us. I loved that we reconnected at a HS reunion just so that I could be reminded that really good people do still exist. I enjoyed our chats, I enjoyed her daily, bright outlook posts but mostly I enjoyed knowing she was among us. I will miss Monita. Today our world is a little less bright even as Heaven is a bit more luminous. I know one day we will see each other again. Go with God and rest yourself. “His master said to him, Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’ Matthew 25:21

  4. "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted" Matthew 5:4

It is still so hard to believe she is gone. It is a celebration in Heaven and sorrow here on Earth. It has been my privelege and honor to call Monita a treasured friend.

Her bright smile, kind, compassionate heart and strong faith in God will be remembered always.

Prayers are with The Braxton Family.
5. Monita there will never be another to fill your shoes. While we mourn here on earth you are now resting easy in the arms of the Lord. You impacted so many lives and your dedication to finding exploited and missing children will live on through your legacy. We your family and friends will continue to help find the next child. I could probably write all night of how special and loving you were, but anyone who knew you already knows. It’s hard to finish up, it just feels so final and your passing has left a void in my heart. I never want to let you go Mo, so I will forever carry you in my heart, I will post your purple Tuesday pictures and I will try to carry on your red Friday’s. Monita you were an incredible person, you touched many lives and your dedication to the causes you supported is unbeatable. I miss you already, I’ve missed you all week, I kept expecting to see your 5:30am good morning post, your funny memes, pics or post you shared from Serita. I miss the events you were always posting or marking you were going. I loved your sip and paint post, the baby showers and Birthdays pictures you posted. I thank God while our time was short, it is memorable and I will never forget the cousin bond we shared. Rest easy my Purple Rose
