Frances
Summers
August 24, 1935 – April 21, 2026
Frances Summers was born on August 24, 1935, in McBee, South Carolina, to the late William Hampton Raley and Easphert Brown Peoples. On April 21, 2026, Frances (Fanny) Summers peacefully entered her final resting place, surrounded by the love of those she leaves behind. She received her education through the Chesterfield County School System. Frances eventually moved from McBee, South Carolina, to Baltimore, Maryland, where she met and married her late husband, Ernest W. Summers. At an early age, Frances accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She became a devoted and faithful member of Perkins Square Baptist Church, where she worshipped wholeheartedly and remained deeply rooted in her faith. She began her career at Lutheran Hospital and went on to work at Liberty Medical Center for over 20 years, where she retired as a cook. She also spent many years as a daycare provider. Frances had a love for bowling and playing cards. She cherished spending time with her family, and in her alone time; she found joy in completing word search puzzles. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Willen Brown, Jim Peoples, James Lewis Peoples, Berl Beasley Peoples, and Steven Peoples. She leaves to cherish her memory of her loving brother, Henry Peoples (affectionately known as Ricky), and sister Bernessa Wright. Frances was a devoted mother to her four children: Anthony Raley, Sr., the late Nee-Tie Bennett, Ernie Summers (Miriam), and Nikita Fitzgerald. She was also a cherished grandmother to Anthony Raley, Jr., Tamara Woods, Jermaine Raley, Ny-Kisha Farmer, Thomas Bennett II (Dalila), Tyeisha Blair, Anthony Pretlow, Tiairra White (Keith), Eric Summers, Erica Nelson, Jasmynn Summers, and Kamira Fitzgerald. In addition, she was blessed with two bonus grandchildren, Andre Parham and Tiearra Smith.
Tributes of Love ~ Remembering
~ Frances Summers -
“I will miss her voice, her laughter, her guidance but I know that everything she taught me lives on inside of me. She shaped who I am, and because of her, I know how to keep going even when it’s hard.”

“ With Jesus” Mama, you’re resting now with Jesus above, held in his arms, surrounded by love. I miss your voice, your gentle embrace, but I see your light in his amazing grace. Your son still walks the path you showed with faith as my guide on this earthy road, until I see you in Heaven someday. I’ll carry your love with me all the way.
- Ernie -
"From the moment you entered my life, you filled my heart with love and joy. You were my greatest blessing - my pride, my happiness. Your kindness, laughter, and beautiful spirit left a lasting mark on everyone around you. Though you're no longer by my side, you will live forever in my heart. You were - and will always be - my precious mother. Rest peacefully, my love. Until we meet again."
